account number and Technician ID in order to register the device.
• Verify that the Administrator has deployed the necessary licenses to the device.

Step S5. Run the OBDM Unlocker (Verizon devices only)
Standard Device Installation and Setup Guide Release 1.43
Page 20 E6474-90133, Rev. 1.10 April 2016
Before RANAdvisor TrueSite can be used to check out and return floating licenses, you will
need a StrataSync account. Contact your StrataSync Administrator to obtain a user name
and password of the Technician ID used to register the device. Your account will need the
following permissions: “API Access” and “Manage Floating Options.”
To check out floating licenses:
1 Ensure the device is registered with the StrataSync server as described above.
2 Launch RANAdvisor TrueSite and tap the StrataSync icon.
3 Go to Advanced Settings > Account ID, Server and Proxy settings. Under
License Mode, select User License Pull, to manually check out or check in
licenses.
4 Click Next. You will see two tabs labeled INSTALLED and NOT INSTALLED.
– INSTALLED tab contains the floating licenses that are checked out, as well as
the installed fixed licenses.
– NOT INSTALLED tab contains the floating licenses available for check out.
5 Under NOT INSTALLED, select the licenses to be checked out and click Next.
6 Select the duration in days. By default, the Save for auto check out option is
selected to allow the application to automatically check out licenses when you launch
TrueSite.
7 Click Check out licenses.
8 If prompted for authentication, log into the StrataSync server by entering the login
credentials, and click Check out licenses. The application will confirm successful
checkout.
After the licenses are checked out, you can work on the associated features immediately
and the floating license status will be displayed on the main license screen.
Step S5. Run the OBDM Unlocker (Verizon devices only)
If your phone is a Verizon device, such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900V, you must
unlock the Diagnostic Client Interface (DCI) before running TrueSite for the first time.
TrueSite caches the unlocking PIN for use on subsequent restarts. There is no need to run
the OBDM Unlocker again unless the SIM is changed.
To unlock the device, follow the default procedure below or use the OBDM Unlocker app.
NOTES
• You must use the OBDM SIM provided by the carrier.
• You must apply a TrueSite license on the device prior to unlocking the OBDM SIM.

Wireless. After inserting the SIM turn on the device.
2 A few minutes after the device boots up, you will receive a notification in the Android
notification tray indicating a PIN is required.
3 Launch the TrueSite application. You will see the following screen.

Standard Device Installation and Setup Guide Release 1.43
Page 22 E6474-90133, Rev. 1.10 April 2016
6 Once the PIN is verified, the TrueSite application launches automatically. After a few
minutes, confirm that RF data is populated.
To clear the cache and force a user to enter the PIN each time the device restarts:
1 Open the OBDM Unlocker app.
2 From the menu in the upper right, select Clear Cache.
Step 7. Disable encryption (SM900-A with COI5 ROM only)
A new engineering build (COI5 ROM) is supported on the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM900-A
running Android 5.1.1 (see Table 6 on page 29). To enable IMS Measurements in TrueSite
on the device, you must disable encryption on the S5 SM900-A.
NOTE
Each time the device is power-cycled, it generates a “PIN required” notification while it
searches for the cached PIN. This process can take up to 1.5 minutes. When the device
detects the PIN, the notification is dismissed. You can then start the TrueSite application.
If you try to start TrueSite before the PIN is detected, you will be presented with the
OBDM “Hold On” screen. After the device detects the PIN, it dismisses the Hold On
screen and launches TrueSite.
