Using the Samsung Galaxy S 4 as a Wi-Fi Hotspot
When you use your phone as a hotspot, up to 10 devices—such as laptops, eReaders, tablets, and other
Wi-Fi-capable items—can use your phone’s internet connection. Please note that this feature requires a
subscription to a tethering plan.
Portable Wi-Fi® Hotspot and USB Tethering
1. Touch Apps >
Settings.
4. Next to Portable
Wi-Fi hotspot, move
the slider from Off to
On (gray to green).
4. Review the
introduction to the
hotspot and touch
Accept.
2. On the
Connections
tab, touch More
networks.
5. Review the alert
that Wi-Fi will
be disabled and
touch OK.
3. Touch Tethering and
portable hotspot.
6. On any Wi-Fi capable
device, find the
network created by
the Samsung Galaxy
S 4 and select it
to connect to the
portable hotspot.
7. To find the instructions
and password (as
shown above) used to
connect to the Wi-Fi
hotspot from other Wi-Fi
capable devices, touch
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

GET TO KNOW THE

1. Insert the USB end
of the cable into the
USB port on the
computer. Insert the
other end of the cable
into the charging port
on the phone. Touch
Apps > Settings.
5. Simply uncheck
the checkbox next
to USB tethering
to stop tethering.
2. On the Connections
tab, touch More
settings.
3. Select Tethering
and portable
hotspot.
4. Touch the
checkbox next to
USB tethering.
Your Galaxy S 4
will indicate that it
is now tethered.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 can also share its internet connection with a computer over a USB data cable.
Please note that this feature requires a subscription to a tethering plan.
