Device Manager User Guide
2.1.1 – System Information
Displays information relating to the system eg MCP Version.
2.1.3 – System Time - The Time Information Centre can be called on - 1194
Current Time to be altered only – this adjusts the time system wide.
2.4.3 – CLI Send Number
Number that is to be displayed to callers – only applicable if caller ID at extension
level is present.
2.5.4 – Preset Forward - 3 seconds = 1 ring.
The “No Answer Forward Delay” column is to be altered only.
3.2.1 – Trunk Ringing
Trunk = Line. These are identified on the left as 701, 702, etc. Ring Plans are the
six ring plans available throughout the day, eg day, night, etc. These times are
defined in 4.3.1.
3.2.3 – DID Ringing
Allows each ISDN Direct Indial number, allocated by your telephone company,
specific ring plan assignment.
Incoming Digits: One of the numbers in the indial number plan. This is generally
part of a 100 number range.
Ring Plan: The destination of the calls per ring mode.
Translation Name: Identification of the call. Usually preset as “Indial” or “Own”.
Delete Count: The number of digits to be deleted by the telephone system prior
to dialling. Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any changes.
Max Call: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any changes.
Call Wait: Allows a second DID call to be received. A group destination cannot
have call waiting, as a group is never busy.
MOH/BGM: Allows the selection of an available music source that the calling
party will hear when ringing the DID number is placed on hold. Please consult
your Samsung specialist prior to making any changes.
Priority: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any changes.
DGP Tone: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any
changes.

3.2.6 – CLI Name Translation
This is used to associate a CLIP number received from the telephone exchange
with a name programmed in this translation table.
CLIP Number: The number should be in the 8 digit format for local or 10 for
mobile. Some carriers require the area code to be entered as well eg 073....
CLIP Name: The name to be displayed on user keysets when a call is received
from the associated telephone number.
4.1.1 – Station Groups
Defines the options and assignments of each of the operator groups.
Group Number: The station group identification number.
Group Type: A station group can be one of the following types:
- Normal – Used to assign stations in a ring group. The
members can be stations; other options can only be
programmed by a trained Samsung technician.
- VMAA – Used to group a number of voicemail port
extensions. Must be programmed by a trained Samsung
technician, as optional equipment is required. Can only be a
distributed or sequential ring.
- UCD – Used to build a Uniform Call Distribution group and
requires an optional Auto Attendant card. The system
administrator should only add or delete members from this
group. This type has wrap up capability
- AA – This is used to group a number of Auto Attendant
ports. An AA card must be installed in the system to be able
to do this. This group type can only have distributed or
sequential ring.
Ring Mode: Sets how the group will ring. There are three choices:
- Sequential – The stations listed, as members will be called
on a first available basis. Calls will first go to the first
member, if the first member is busy, calls will go to the
second member, if the second member is busy, calls will go
to the third member, etc. This type of group is useful for
placing the bulk of the incoming calls to a selected individual,
with other members only getting the calls when the first
member is busy.
- Distributed – The first call will go to the first member, the
second call to the second member, the third call to the third
member, etc. This type of group is useful for evenly
distributing the calls amongst all the group members.
- Unconditional – Calls are placed to all group members
simultaneously.

Next Port: This is the station or group number that callers will also ring at if the
overflow feature has been programmed. Any station or group can be defined as
the next port.
RBT Message: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any
changes.
Group Name: Programmes an eleven-character name to a station group. This
name is visible on LCD handsets to advise the station the nature of the call.
Transfer Time: This is a timer that will determine how long external calls
transferred to the group will ring at the group before recalling to the station that
transferred the call. If set to 000, no recall will take place.
Overflow Time: This is the time value that will cause unanswered calls to a
group to overflow to the next port after this timer has elapsed. If set to 000, no
overflow will take place.
Hunt Time: This is a timer that will determine how long external calls transferred
to the group will ring at the group before recalling to the station that transferred
the call. If set to 000, no recall will take place.
Group Busy: Allows busy tone to be heard when all group members are busy.
Options are On or Off.
Group Answer: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any
changes.

Member: List all members that are to be in the group.
4.1.3 – Page Groups
This assigns keysets to any of the five internal paging zones. A keyset may be
assigned to more than one zone. Enter the extension number for each keyset
required for each page zone.
4.2.1 – Station Pair
This allows you to “pair” two stations, so that one rings, they both do. It is mainly
used to pair a cordless phone to a fixed station.
4.3.1 – Ring Time Plan
Sets the time of day, for each day of the week, so that the system switches to
Night mode and returns to Day mode automatically. Please note: Ring Plan 1 is
generally preset as night mode and the times are 00:01 23:59 then Ring Plan 2 is
set as required for day, morning, etc with start and end time respective.

4.3.2 – Holiday List
The system will override the normal ring plan for these days and remain in the
ring plan associated with the holiday. Dates are entered in a month/day format.
One ring plan applies to all holidays.
Ring Plan: The ring plan to be used for each holiday must be allocated in the
Ring Plan box.
Month: Two digits must be entered for each month. Eg January = 01
Day: Two digits must be entered for the day of the month. Eg the first = 01
4.4.0 – System Speed Dial
Trunk Number: The trunk that will be used when the speed number is dialled,
normally 0 or 9.
Outgoing Digits: The number the system will dial.
Speed Name: The eleven-character name associated with the speed dial
number.
4.5.2 – Account Code

4.5.3 – Authorisation Code
Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any changes.
4.7.1 – Port Class
Each class of service can be customised to allow or deny access to features and
to define a station’s dialling class. Please consult your Samsung specialist prior
to making any changes.
4.9.2 – Station Key
Allows the customising of programmable keys on specific keysets, or Add On
Modules (AOM) on the system. For keysets, buttons 1 and 2 are set as CALL
buttons by default. Please note, it is very important that the correct Tel Number is
selected (top right hand corner) from the box BEFORE making changes.
Feature: The type of feature to be accessed by the key. Use the drop down
menu to select the feature that is required. Common features used are DS
(Direct Station) for internal extension keys, DT (Direct Trunk) for lines, etc. If you
have any queries, please contact your Samsung Dealer.
Extender: An extender that can be associated with the key. Types of extenders
include extension numbers, station group numbers and trunk numbers.
5.9.1 – SVMi User Mail Box
This is used to create a mailbox for station groups and extensions. Select yes or
no.
5.13.3 – Programmed Message
Used to create and alter custom text messages that users can set at their
stations. For internal use only. Refer to your user guide.

5.15.1– Station Options
Tel Number: The telephone extension number.
Lock Status: Allows an individual station to locked or unlocked, or all stations
simultaneously. The three options are as follows:
Unlocked: Unlocks a locked station – meaning the station can make and receive
calls.
Locked Out: The system cannot make calls outside the system. It can however
receive external calls.
Locked All: The keyset cannot make or receive any calls.
DND Status: Set means that Do Not Disturb is active, Reset means that it is
inactive on that particular extension.
Initialise Password: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making
any changes.
Station Name: Programmes individual station names of up to eleven characters.
5.15.2– Station Mode
Answer Mode: Changes the way a keyset or add on module answers internal
incoming calls. The three options are:
Ring Mode: The keyset rings until the user answers manually by lifting the
handset or pressing the speaker/answer release key.
Auto Answer Mode: The keyset answers the call automatically on speakerphone
after an attention tone is given.
Voice Announce: The caller is heard on the speaker but the user must answer by
lifting the handset or pressing the speaker/answer release key.
Auto Answer Co: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any
changes.
Date Mode: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any
changes.
Time Mode: Enables selection of either 12 or 24 hour clock.
Display Mode: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any
changes.
Call Speed: Please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making any
changes.
5.15.5 – Keyset Volume
Ring: Sets the volume of how loudly it will ring – from 1-8 where 1 is the softest.
Off Ring: Sets the volume for the off-hook ring – from 1-8 where 1 is the softest.
Handset: Sets the volume of the hand piece – from 1-8 where 1 is the softest.
Speaker: Sets the volume of the speaker – from 1-16 where 1 is the softest.
BGM: Sets the volume of the background music – from 1-16 where 1 is the
softest.
Page: Determines how loud the paging is – from 1-16 where 1 is the softest.
Ring frequency: Determines the ring tone per extension from 1-8. See user
guide for further information.

5.15.6 – Call Forwarding
Allows the system administrator to set the call forward conditions for any station.
T/S = Trunk or Station number – This where you put your outside line eg 0 or 9.
Alternatively you can allocate an extension number or a group number eg 5X9 for
voicemail.
5.15.7 – Station Speed Dial
Programming of the personal speed dial locations assigned to each station.
Please note, it is very important that the correct Tel Number is selected (top right
hand corner) from the box BEFORE making changes.
Speed Name: The name associated with the speed dial number and will be
displayed on the LCD.
Trunk Number: The number you use to dial out, generally 0 or 9.
Outgoing Digits: The number you wish to dial (up to 24 digits long).
If you have any doubts, please consult your Samsung specialist prior to making
any changes. All changes are live and permanent when made via this program
and there is no “undo” feature. If a technician is required to fix any program
changes made by your company, please note that the visit may be chargeable.
